Current Site Heuristics Analysis

1. There are two tabs that allude to the free green tea cook book. Only one of them is actually a hyperlink so the other in completely unnecessary as they are stacked on top of each other on the home page. - (Consistency and Standards Heuristic.)

2. There is only one category possible under the category tab when you click on "my account" so there is no need for this and it adds confusion to whether the customer chose the correct page.. -(Recognition rather than Recall).

3. There is a green tea recipe's tab at the bottom of the page but it is for customers to upload their own recipes - this is not clear by the language. - (Match between system and the real world.)

4. Any pictures associated with the recipes make the food look unappetizing. - (Aesthetic and Minimalist design.)

5. When you select a category from the side bar of "green tea benefits tab" it displays "anti-bacterial category" instead of just "anti-bacterial" which you clicked on. This is both repetitive and confusing. - (Consistency and Standards.)

6. Having a video on the home page of someone unrecognizable and without a visible degree in any health related field make the website feel illegitimate from a first glance. - (Aesthetic and Minimalist design.)

7. Both recipes on the home page are cut off without any sort of arrow to continue reading. - (Match between the system and the real world.)

8. When you go to check out with your shopping cart, the white background of the website covers half of the green tabs at the top of the screen making it nearly impossible to read them. - (Error prevention).

9.  Sometimes Green Tea is capitalized and sometimes it is not. - (Consistency and Standards).

10.  The "Advanced Search" hyperlink under the search bar brings you to a page with nothing on it. (Help and Documentation.)

1. What are your 2 favorite websites and why?
-- Facebook.com  because I like to stay in touch with friends and family.
-- hummusapien.wordpress.com because it is a vegan blog and I like to look at the recipes and healthy eating ideas.

2. Do you have any certain pet peeves about some websites?
-- I don't like when websites take forever to load or have too many things like pops up and music going on.  I like bright and simple graphics.

3. Do you consider yourself a healthy eater?
-- Yes, I try to eat healthy most days.

4. Would you ever consider eating whole green tea leaves if they had nutritional benefits?
--Yes I would depending on how expensive they were and how they tasted.

After looking at the website.

5. If you answered no to question 4 are you reconsidering after seeing this site?
If you answered yes to question 4 are you considering buying it knowing it is available online?
-- Maybe, but how do I know its not a scam and that its really as good as it says it is.

6. Did you have any problems navigating the website? If so what were the problems?
-- No everything seemed to be easy to understand and loaded without problems

7. Do you have any suggestions for a layout of a future website?
-- I would maybe have a different video because it’s a little grainy which makes me question its authenticity. Additionally I would maybe have less dense explanation of the product and its benefits.

Competitor Analysis

The site I found to compare to Eat Green Tea is a site about eating WHEAT GRASS. This site, like eat green tea, sells wheat grass tablets, powder, and juice powder.

I think that the site does a very good job of laying out the information the users would be looking for. I really like the facebook, twitter, youtube, and flicker icons on the top right. Another thing that is appealing is that the colors of the top and left side bar agree. The drop down menu is very useful when you’re trying to navigate the page. I believe that everything is pretty straightforward on this wheat grass site. There is also a share button on the top right of the page that is very useful and beneficial to the site owner because you are able to share the site with friends on email, blogs, and much more.

The only downfall I notice with this site is that in the information section it gives you the nutritional information in a chart form and does not explain the nutritional values. This could be confusing to some people.

Abby has heard about eating green tea leaves from a friend at work and has thought about trying it. She is nervous however about the risks that come with eating green tea from polluted farms. Abby also loves to cook and is very interested in finding was to incorporated green tea into her recipes.

He has a vitamin deficiency so he is looking to change his diet. Exercise is minimal so his diet would be the largest change in his daily activities. Bill has never eaten green tea leaves before but is considering them because they are natural.  One of his Children, Mary Anne is also into natural remedies and suggested green tea as a way to improve health. Bill is a picky eater so he would like to know ways of eating green tea leaves where he will not taste them very much.
